Snow...

I have more photos to put up later! It hasn't stopped snowing since 10am yesterday, the snow's about 6 inches deep! I walked to school this morning to find out that teachers as individuals get to decide if there's school today and mine lives in a neighbouring village and didn't turn up for the 20 minutes that I was there for...nor did any more than 2 of my students...

School

There are two teachers at my school that I really need to tell you about!
One is a female teacher, I have no idea what she teaches but last week she wore a DIFFERENT fur coat EVERY day!! The first was floor length, second was knee length, third was a cape, and fourth was hip length! I've also seen her in fur trimmed coats before! The woman is obsessed! hehe
There's another one a male teacher who I saw twice last week leaving school smoking a cigar!
It feels like a mafia school especially with the way the male teachers all hang around the entrance at break time smoking and wearing sunglasses!

Florence

Florence was as beautiful as ever and a lot warmer than Avezzano!!
We went for aperativo, you buy a drink and then get to help yourself to a buffet, mainly pasta and salads, and random pastry things. I had a really lovely time, it was so nice to actually spend time with some english people! I wasn't there for long less than 24 hours! So there's not really much to tell you...but they're all going to be in Rome next weekend so I'm meeting them for lunch on sunday :) xxx

New girl

The new girl is called Serena, she's ginger and seems friendly, she speaks english quite well and is doing a 4 month course on environmental something or another, I couldn't translate it...

I'm planning on going to Rome this sunday, there's a flea market that apprarently has copius amounts of vintage clothing for cheap and a modern art museum I want to visit, it says it has lots of Italian impressionism, I wasn't even aware there were Italian impressionists lol. There's a Japanese restaurant I want to go to but they don't do lunch on sundays so hopefully, I'll be able to get some pizza at the market :)
I'm headed to Florence on 28th just for 2 days, to see the other assistants I met in Turin, I'm gonna email Ilaria as well and see if she wants to meet up while I'm there...

The return...

The journey - our flight boarded early on monday, I was amazed, we even landed early, although in the wrong place and had to be pushed back lol and somehow within half an hour I managed to get off the plane through passport control, collect my suitcase and locate my coach! It was pretty amazing :)
My first day back at work, I had no lessons in the morning, the first being cancelled for exams and the other one I had to miss to go to the secretary's office, the post office, the bank and then the post office again, the result being I'm STILL waiting to be paid! Grrr! All will be sorted in four days I'm told...
We're starting a picture of dorian grey on friday and currently finishing Richardson's Pamela and A Christmas Carol, wooo english literature :( It's so annoying I came here to teach english not literature.
In my other lesson today we did how to order food in a restaurant and how to buy veg in a greengrocer's, majorly exciting stuff.
Marta has moved in with her boyfriend so we're getting a new housemate soon, I have no other information than that yet...
